A choice of bus 236 or 106 Finsbury Park to Mare Street. It seemed to take forever to reach Mare Street
I had in my mind, Mare Street a narrow street with market stalls. I find myself in a wide thorouhfare. A long walk to Mare Street Market, past Hackney Empire, past Hackney Town Hall.
Impressive. I was reminded of SoHo Haus in Berlin, though smaller.
A coffee roastery, deli, pizzeria, record store, florist. Long tables, shelves by the window with 13A sockets. Outside seating, more long tables.
I was tempted by a pizza, but having eaten pizza only two days earlier at Home Slice in Covent Garden, I checked out the deli.
Spoilt for choice. I settled on a bagel, covered with what I assumed to be poppy seeds. Inside smoked salmon and cheese. Delicious.
Flying Horse Roastery only served takeaway from their hatch. A cappuccino from the deli, beans and capsules from the roastery.
I arrived by bus from Finsbury Park, a long tedious journey, then a long walk along Mare Street.
I returned via London Fields, Overground to Liverpool Street , then Underground to King’s Cross
Around the corner from Mare Street Market, a street food market, Netil Market.
I walked along the embankment, a far more interesting walk than Mare Street.
