Last weekend, I lost my phone. I was able to track it. Not where I had been. Smashed.
At a guess, it had been found, instead of handing it in to Sycamore coffee shop, walked down the street, tried to open it. Not possible, and smashed it on the street. Another person found it, dropped it on a wall.
Dilemma, repair or new phone? Maybe more cost effective, a new phone rather than repair.
I took into Fone Tech, could get a new screen the next day, but would not be an original part.
Redmi Note 10 Pro. Excellent phone, but Xiaomi Chinese phone, parts not readily available.
Battery failing.
My screen was already cracked. An incident on LNER Azuma Doncaster to York. A staff member had swung her bag, knocked my phone out of my hand. It had smashed onto the table and cracked the screen. No apology, she vanished down the train. LNER were notified before the train reached York. I’d been putting off getting the phone repaired. Now no choice.
I decided to go with repair as I needed to access data on my phone.
A guy came in needing a new battery. He wanted to keep the old battery. What was he going to do with it, of what use was it to him? It was explained to him, it contained toxic materials, could explode and catch fire, could not be disposed of with general waste.
A lady came in with a phone repaired elsewhere. She had been overcharged and ripped off, shoddy workmanship, the phone no longer worked. She was advised return to the shop, demand a full refund for their shoddy repair, or carry out the work again. If they refused, report to Trading Standards, and a 1* review on Google maps.
My repair, quality workmanship.
Knowledgeable and helpful.
I was impressed by the professionalism and customer service for everyone who walked into the store.
Second hand and new phones on sale. Better deals than CEX.
