Cappuccino Paul’s Coffee Roasters

November 4, 2019

Following a disgusting coffee at Lazaris Bakery, to Paul’s Coffee Roasters for a decent coffee.

I just had time for a small cappuccino. I would argue only one size, a correct size. The larger size I have had in the was better. I found this too be weak and insipid.

Had I arrived earlier, I would have found Paul roasting coffee. He was in the process of weighing and bagging coffee.

I asked of the cold brew. Concentrated to then water down is not the way to make quality cold brew.

Cappuccino at Paul’s Coffee Roasters

October 20, 2019

Walking from Lazaris which was closed, it was Monday afternoo a couple of weeks ago in Larnaca, I managed to find Paul’s Coffee Roasters without getting lost.

But I wish they would make the back streets traffic free.

Excellent cappuccino.

Is it Paul’s skill as a barista improving, as a coffee roaster, the beans? Maybe a combination of all three.

Interesting conversation with a Lebanese group who were visiting for a few days.

I tell then they were very lucky to happen upon Paul’s Coffee Roasters as they would be hard pushed to find decent coffee anywhere in Cyprus.

I was handed a fruit, which I had not noticed growing in the garden. Told it was a Lebanese fruit, told the name but I do not remember.

On leaving, Paul handed me a few more.

Overpowering smell. The taste similar. I tried one the next day, but did not like.

Cappuccino and pour over Paul’s Coffee Roasters

October 13, 2019

After several days of bad coffee and at best mediocre coffee, a coffee shop where they serve decent coffee, a rarity in Cyprus.

No Nick’s Coffee Bike outside Larnaca Marina. I ask of security post, but they do not know other than to tell me not seen today.

I know of a coffee shop, but only walked from coffee shop through back streets to seafront. I decide to try the other way around, walk along seafront, through back streets, only cannot ask the way, as cannot recall the name.

Amazingly I find Paul’s Coffee Roasters without getting lost.

I order a cappuccino and take into the garden.

Coffee shop not busy, but becomes busy whilst I am there. A steady stream of customers, people of good taste who appreciate good coffee.

I leave two bags of coffee, but first we try Ethiopian from The Missing Bean brewed using a Gina, similar to a V60. Excellent.

Paul’s Coffee Roasters is a rarity in Cyprus, an independent coffee shop, pleasant ambience, lovely little garden, well designed, not made to look like Starbucks, and serves excellent coffee. Well worth finding.

Also try Nick’s Coffee Bike  by the seafront outside the marina.

Cappuccino Paul’s Coffee Roasters

Paul’s Coffee Roasters a micro-roastery and coffee shop in the back streets of Larnaca.

Very pleasant ambience, not only the coffee shop abut also the courtyard out the back.

As walk in, coffee roaster displayed on the left on show in the window, counter to the right in front.

The only coffee shop apart from Outpost Coffee where I have found Gina, the only coffee shop where I have found in use. Interestingly, not only used as pour over cf V60 or Chemex, also used for making tea.

Excellent selection of reading material, Standart and Another Escape. This is becoming a standard feature of quality coffee shops, quality reading to match the coffee.

I suggested add Drift, Ambrosia, possibly Om Nom.  In Refinery and SoHo House Berlin I came across several interesting magazines that I had not seen before, BRYGG, The Beam and KinFolk.

My cappuccino excellent.

I would have liked a pour over but no time. As good a reason as any to return.

Located near St Lazarus Church backstreets behind the seafront.
