Three days of heavy torrential rain. In the mountains the rain falls as snow.

Snow not only covering El Teide, but also on the mountains surrounding Puerto de la Cruz.

In England, nothing like this volume of rain, and yet widespread flooding.

In Puerto de la Cruz, a stream in Barranco San Felipe ( a dry river valley), nothing more.

The reason the difference, hills in Tenerife covered in trees.

El Teide

A brief glimpse of El Teide covered in snow.

When it rains at sea level, it snows on Teide.

Ayer un día en una finca en un montañas cerca de Icod.

From Puerto de la Cruz to Icod, and further along the cost, the mountains tumble down to the sea. Stunning views along the coast. Very green. Ravines pierce deep into the mountains.

From Icod, winding mountain roads climb up the mountain.

A brief stop at a mountain spring to fill my water bottle with fresh spring water, around a bend and arrive at a friend´s farm, something over 900 metres above sea level, a thousand feet.

On arrival, greeted by ducks and geese.

It had been sunny, on arrival, dull and grey, but after an excellent lunch, the sky cleared giving excellent views down to the sea and of nearby El Teide.
