Koda Studios

September 15, 2019

Koda is one of two excellent shops in Paragon Arcade, the other Two Gingers.

The furniture in Koda from beautifully crafted from large blocks of wood.

I would suggest add Drift and a Japanese syphon on show and of course V60. On the walls frame art from from local artists.

I was reminded of 101 Coffee Espresso Bar in Jericho in Oxford and Makushsi half way up Steep Hill in Lincoln where they have tables from large pieces of wood.

Strange though how creative people can be so clueless on use of social media. Links to Instagram on twitter no pictures, businesses card mentions social media but no account shown.

We need to fill our world with fewer but better designed things, that last, that are pleasing to the eye and to the touch, style over fashion. And if we are ethical, not only not post what we do on Instagram, but not encourage others to use Instagram.

“And now I think the things that matter are unfinished paintings that everyone creates and no one owns. Rather we are created each time we touch the breath of being, and we are connected to everyone who ever lived each time we add a stroke. And sometimes we are briefly aware that we are living parts of the most elemental community of all, the community of life force that moves through everything.”

— Mark Nepo: “The Unfinished Painting,” from Parabola, Volume 36, No 4., Winter 2011: “Many Paths, One Truth.”
