V60 at Krema in Tunsgate overlooking Guildford Castle grounds.

A guest coffee from Clifton Coffee, which I had picked up from Coffee Lab a couple of weeks ago, sourced from Congo.

The Congo Farmer Trust

April 20, 2017

Congo is rich in natural and mineral resources. That is why it is war torn, ravaged by warlords, each fighting for those resources, backed by Western interests.

Farmers can grow commodities, paid low prices, or they can up their game, use traditional methods, with emphasis on quality, work as cooperatives, involve the women, work directly with overseas partners, quality commands higher prices, quality is what the roasteries, the speciality coffee shops demand.
In addition, need transparency, traceability.

To partner with Starbucks is a retrograde step.
