Chopin in Farnham Parish Church

April 5, 2014

I was in Farnham this afternoon. A cold wet miserable afternoon.

Last week, near 20C, this week, a tad above 10C, with a cold wind blowing and drizzle.

I popped into Farnham Parish Church.

I wished to light a candle for my Romanian friend Cristobella, but no candles.

A guy was playing Chopin. He was wonderful to listen to.

When he paused, he told me he was from Lithuania, and invited me to a concert, Rising Stars of the Bourne, where he was playing with a violinist at St Thomas-on-the-Bourne on Thursday evening.

I asked was it being recorded?

He said no.

I told him of the percussion concert I was at the previous evening, O Duo, and that it was being recorded by a couple of students from Surrey University. I suggested putting him in touch, as if recorded, may be worth releasing on bandcamp.

I then left, feeling a little guilty at disturbing his playing.
