What an amazing end to an incredible year. Watched by hundreds of thousands in the capital and millions around the globe, London has proved, yet again, that it can pull off spectacular world-class events in style. — Mayor of London Boris Johnson
A spectacular firework display in London to welcome in the New Year that lasted over ten minutes.
London once again put the rest of the world to shame.
The theme was London led the world in 2012 though even Gangnam Style got a look in.
There were some amazing fireworks, I particularly liked the ones that cascaded down like a golden waterfall.
An estimated 250,000 people were on the street watching the display on The Thames, some had been there since early afternoon to ensure a prime spot.
I do not know how they managed to achieve it, but this year’s spectacular was even more spectacular than last year.

Gangnam Style just won’t go away and this Christmas the song is providing the soundtrack to a festive lights spectacular in Texas, USA.
Gangnam Style has recently become YouTube’s most-watched video of all time.
One thing’s for sure, the electricity bill for this sound and light show must be through the roof!
