Relieve the starving Syrians repeat Operation Manna

Lancasters dropping food over Holland in Operation Manna

During WWII, an agreement was reached with the Germans, under Operation Manna unarmed Lancaster bombers flying at rooftop height dropped food to the starving Dutch.

No reason why agreement cannot be reached with the Russians to mount a similar operation to relieve starving Syrians.

Warning to Assad, should he interfere, every government building, every military camp, would be destroyed.

Assad is a war criminal and must be held accountable.

Labour Member of Parliament Jo Cox has called for a similar operation to relieve starving Syrians.

Please sign the petition to Parliament calling upon the UK government to mount an air operation to relieve starving Syrians.

Please also sign the petition to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, calling upon the UN to act.

If we can drop bombs (all of five missions) we can drop food.

Dropping food is very difficult, the airspace there is controlled by Russia. Any entry by RAF aircraft will be seen as hostile, missions would be very dangerous.

Which is why I said agreement to be reached with the Russians, as was done with Germans during Operation Manna during WWII, when unarmed Lancaster bombers flew at rooftop height and dropped food to the starving Dutch.

Which is why I said if Assad were to interfere, destroy every single government building and military base.

The areas ISIS control, they were initially welcomed by the local populations, as were in Iraq.

After the vote in Parliament, RAF has flown all of five missions into Syria (one of which was a drone Christmas Eve). There was no military objective. It was all about political posturing by David Cameron.

Bombing is only making the situation worse on the ground.

To defeat ISIS and Assad, needs military forces on the ground, which no politician will be honest with the public about.

One option, is to sit back and do nothing. But that would leave ISIS free to conquer the Middle East then Europe, which would cost even more lives.

We also have to recognise, countries in Middle East are artificial entities drawn up by French and British following collapse of Ottoman Empire at the end of WWI.

All wars in Europe and Middle East have been unfinished business from end of WWI.

Iraq, Syria and Libya, no longer exist as countries. Iraq was three Ottoman Provinces, Kuwait was part of Iraq. Kurdistan now exists as a de-facto country.

ISIS is a de-facto state that straddles Iraq and Syria.
