Demand The Sun prints prominent front page apology for Corbyn smear

The Sun Corbyn apology

The Sun Corbyn apology

The phone hacking scandal and the inquiry that followed, showed the gutter occupied by the scum who work for The Sun.

But what has since changed?

The evil Murdoch Empire still exists, the attacks on Russell Brand, Charlotte Church, Jeremy Corbyn have been relentless.

We have a toothless regulator, IPSO.

The Sun have been running a smear campaign against Jeremy Corbyn. IPSO has forced an apology. This should be, same size typeface, in prominent page where the the original story ran.

The Sun has printed in tiny typeface, bottom left-hand corner of the front page of The Sun. Blink, and you will miss it, assuming you would even wish to waste something as valuable as a blink of an eye on rubbish like The Sun.

Please sign the petition demanding IPSO enforces a full apology printed on the front page of The Sun.

Please also lodge a formal complaint with IPSO.

Take direct action on The Sun, turn the paper upside down, back to front, then pile other papers on top. That will kills sales of The Sun for the day.

Just in case there was any remaining doubts as to IPSO being a useless toothless watchdog in the pocket of Murdoch et al, this was an e-mail received this morning in response to my complaint …

    Thank you for your email.

It appears that you are seeking to raise concerns about whether a newspaper has complied with a ruling by IPSO’s Complaints Committee.

Such questions are a matter for IPSO’s Complaints Committee and Board.

The question of compliance with a ruling of the Complaints Committee is not a matter about which IPSO accepts complaints from third parties under the terms of the Editors’ Code of Practice.

Thank you for taking the time to draw your concerns to our attention.

My response to IPSO refusing to act on my complaint …

Your response merely reinforces that IPSO is a useless toothless watchdog in the pocket of Murdoch et al, and that it is time it was scrapped and replaced with the regulator proposed by Levenson.

The Sun has stuck two fingers up to IPSO with its apology, but you propose to do nothing.

All it required was IPSO to look at the nature of the apology, and take further action, it did not need receipt of a single complaint.

Apart from an apology, I would expect a fine equal to the cover price of that day’s circulation where the offending piece was published, multiplied by the number of pages on which published. To be fined again, on the same basis, when the so-called apology is not an apology.

Please regard this as a formal complaint, to the manner in which my original complaint has been handled.
