For several days, smoke pollution, you could not see it, but you could smell it.

Today much worse, difficulty breathing, the light an eerie colour, the sun a hazy yellow.

By mid-afternoon, smoke making everywhere hazy, a dark pall of smoke obscuring the sun, a big black cloud of smoke seen rising.

In the distance, columns of smoke, massive heathland fire.

These fires happen when it is a dry spring, lots of dry undergrowth.

I say happen, someone has started the fires.

Is the fire out now! Where was it?

East of Aldershot and Farnborough, on the heathland.

They usually let them burn out, but create fire breaks to stop from spreading.

Looking from the train Saturday evening the key fire was over Foxhill area just north of Ash Vale. There was a serious one some years back and it has taken years to regenerate and now this looking like moonscape.

    About 50 acres affected.

I believe that the police have caught someone and expectedly actions will take place but no action can return this wild area to resurgence for many years now.

There were other fire setting areas such as Farnham Common twice of more commonly the area just north of Sandy Hill estate
