Everybody has lived with this for years. The main artery pipeline from Southampton passes through Farnborough feeding the airport on its way to Heathrow.

The pipeline running Southampton to Heathrow is underground, it is not carrying volatile fracked oil or highly corrosive diluted tar sands.
There has now been a large number of ruptured pipelines carrying diluted tar sands. One of the worst, there was no contingency plans in place, it was hours if not days before they shut off the valves to stop the flow.

Aviation fuel via pipeline Southampton to Heathrow, has no comparison with what is happening in US and Canada, where cities and pristine environments are being put at risk with the shipping of diluted tar sands bitumen and fracked oil.
