Pea and mint soup at Glutton & Glee

First Tuesday of the month is farmers market in Guildford High Street.

It was too nice a day to be indoors so that ruled out the Thai restaurant in Jeffries Passage. I thought The Keystone, their back courtyard is pleasant on a warm day, but I did not fancy walking down the High Street, cross the river to The Keystone. I decided therefore, a bowl of soup at Glutton & Glee, then get something to eat off the farmers market.

A bowl of pea and mint soup. The portion was generous, though not piping hot, somewhere between lukewarm and hot. A choice of bread, sour dough, granary or white bread. I would have preferred wholemeal. Several slices, which I was surprised to find already buttered.

The soup had a hint of spices, though I know not what, which masked the mint. Maybe ginger.

Tasty, though at £4-95, somewhat pricey for a bowl of soup.
