Não pare na pista

A brief snippet of the film being made of the life of Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho.

It is due for release in Brazil in January 2014, then the rest of the world.

Today, marked The Alchemist two hundred and seventy-seven consecutive weeks in the New York Times best-seller list. Not bad for a book that was first published twenty-five years ago.

Assuming of course shown in UK. We have Clone Town cinema chains, with multiplex cinemas, with screens little bigger than some people have in their living rooms, all showing the same films with an illusion of choice, the same Hollywood films, which basically appear to be computer games with real actors (though often not even that) aimed at brain-dead American teenagers with the attention span of a gnat.

Films have been reduced to a commodity,

Those films worth seeing, are never shown.

You mean there are real cinemas, that show films worth watching!

Ask them to show Black Gold, a film about the coffee industry.

I saw it at an international film festival a few years ago.

Also worth seeing, Favela Rising, about the slums in Rio, but I warn you, very very violent, not for the faint hearted. This I saw at the film festival the previous year.
