As exposed today by BBC Radio 4 You and Yours, appalling treatment by easyJet of passengers stranded by French Air Traffic Controllers.
The passengers were not kept informed of the ongoing situation, received little in the way of help, were not informed of their rights as air passengers, were not provided with meals, accommodation or transport. Passengers had to find their own accommodation and transport, were told there was a cap on the hotel costs, were denied the costs of meal.
According to travel expert Simon Calder, the stranded passenger were entitled to transport, meals and accommodation, with no cap on the accommodation costs.
On two recent flights, I found it was cheaper to fly British Airways. Do not assume low cost airlines are the cheapest option, as often they are not.
