Phenomenal improvisation of Lionel Richie Hello by talented bass player Steve Lawson live at the London Bass Guitar Show 2012.
Methinks a Steve Lawson cover album is long overdue!
Albums by Steve Lawson, including his latest albums 11 Reasons Why 3 is Greater than Everything (2011) and Believe in Peace (2012), can be found on bandcamp.

I only know that it was more about being friends than about ‘good taste’ in music 🙂

I believe I understand now why my friend would cry each time she heard this song back when we were neighbours-literally next door.I was still in school and she in college. At that time, when she shared this with us, my elder sis and I thought she was being overly sentimental. (She also listened a lot to Cliff Richards and Olivia Newton John among other artists)
Good ole Nivi-blessings to you wherever you are!

She did not have very good taste then?

Oops that was the reply to your second comment .
As for your first ,I listen to music on my laptop and that’s saying a lot:)
Keith, why am I not surprised you said that?

I am listening on a HP laptop, but using very expensive, high quality headphones. What I will try is hooking laptop up to very good sound system. Something I have not yet tried. Well have tried, but not for Hello Steve Lawson. Bass guitar should sound pretty good.
I am hoping Steve Lawson and Lobelia will give a concert in Guildford, well more like an avant-garde recital.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ42(that’s HP right?) and from what I found out from my techie friends, this model is history! Or Is obsolete the word I’m looking for?
I got it last April as a birthday gift from my family.Headphones are just about okay, and we have a Sony music system which is out of bounds for me,without going into too many details:)
So grateful for this now although at that time I kicked up such a great big fuss! Didn’t like having to adjust to changes once again(was using the cyber cafe to access the Net) and no one at the service center was helping the way I wanted to be helped…
Hey I’m hoping too for your sake,Keith. That should be something to cherish. They make a great team-Steve and Lobelia.Still have to listen to the other tracks.

Sennheiser HD580 Precision headphones.
My main sound system designed and built by me!
But now use a Pioneer reference amplifier.
Large transmission line speakers designed and built by me!
The problem with a good sound system, the music has to be good, otherwise it sounds bloody awful!

Bloody right too!
Just looked up Google Images.Atleast I know what they look like.
(we had an AKAI back then in the 80s)
You have a lot of talents going for you,Keith.Bless you!

I have a very good Akai reel-to-reel semi-professional tape deck.
At the time it was state-of-the-art, about the best you could get.
I also have a Nakamichi cassette deck.
I tried hooking into sound system. Had to move loads of books, all my signed Paulo Coelho books. Loads of hassle, laptop precariously balanced on bookshelf, lead did not reach. Eventually all hooked up.
As I expected, sounded good. Then I lost the wifi connection.
The good stuff is available for download as FLAC. Up to and including studio master tapes. [see mp3 v FLAC]
To play FLAC you need to download and install VLC Media Player.
You can get USB FLAC to audio. But not looked into this.
