The Fremont Abbey Session

The Fremont Abbey Session

The Fremont Abbey Session

Sometime in 2010 I was asked by Jason Frazier if I would like to participate in a recording session at the Fremont Abbey. He was new to Seattle and had extensive experience in acoustic recording to analogue (good old tape). Jason was considering getting a recording business started, offering his services at the cavernous Abbey and elsewhere. I agreed try it out and it turned out to be an amazing experience. Holly Merrill added her wonderful vocal harmonies and piano, and we all agreed we’d captured something pure, organic, magical. If you love huge, natural reverbs, plaintive but intense music recorded live onto tape (think Low, or Cowboy Junkies “Trinity Session”) then you might like this. Thanks for listening!
