Strange how one thing leads to another.
I was on twitter feed of Steve Lawson, I simply wanted to copy the address, as he was mentioned in an article on Medium, Has tech killed the music industry?, when I noticed Artemis had released an album, Triptych I (Eight for a Wish). Her name ran a bell, as I knew she had performed last winter on tour with Daniel Berkman and Steve Lawson, a tour Steve Lawson is releasing as a multi-album set on memory stick and on bandcamp. I thought I’d check out the album. The albums cover art was from a tarot deck. This I too checked out.
The Cheimonette Tarot deck, amazing artwork, currently a kickstarter project. A tarot deck, an art book, a laser etched box for the cards, and a limited edition CD, featuring several musicians, including, Artemis and Star St. Germain.
Of the many projects of which Star St. Germain is involved in, the main musical project at the moment is This Can’t End Well, a string-based indie chamber lounge group. Born in her San Francisco living room on an unusually hot summer afternoon, This Can’t End Well started off as a cello/viola duo before quickly growing into a trio, then a quartet. The lineup and the instruments are constantly rotating, but the songs keep coming.
This Can’t End Well have released All Over the Map on bandcamp.
At times a dark album, very much late night listening, if you are in the mood. Brilliant!
